5 Last-Minute Mother’s Day Gifts You Can Pick Up Today

When I was a kid, Mother’s Day often started early.
My dad would quietly shake my shoulder, and whisper it was time to get up so my sister and I could help him craft a simple breakfast for mom before church. It wasn’t the most amazing fare—frozen waffles and semi-overcooked eggs were the easiest dishes a 9- and 6-year-old (and dad) could handle—but hey, it’s the thought that counts, right? 🙂
Then during Sunday School, we’d draw wobbly flowers on construction paper and fold it into a card, or do some other Mother’s Day craft that involved messy paint and glue.
But as the seasons changed, and members of our family relocated to other states and countries, we replaced these handmade gestures of my childhood with store-bought cards sent from 1,300+ miles away.
Usually accompanied by an arrangement of flowers, chocolate-covered strawberries, or a gift card to buy a book or two.
But this year….I’m determined to make Mother’s Day extra special—even from across the miles.
Let’s get real—it’s hard to convey everything you want to say with a single gift.
As you’re searching for your own token of appreciation for your mother this Mother’s Day, perhaps you too are struggling with deciding exactly what to get and you feel the pressure of time running out. You want your gift to be memorable, but not too cliché. Practical, but sentimental too.
Where to Find the Perfect Last Minute Mothers Day Gifts
Don’t fret if you don’t have a Mother’s Day gift just yet. These affordable, last-minute picks can be easily ordered online (using Ebates & Honey to get the most out of your dollar, of course!) and shipped to you or directly to your favorite mom. And for even more gift ideas, be sure to check out this list of gift ideas that will impress every mom.
1. Mini Succulent Plants
These seem to be all the rage right now, and these mini ones are too cute! If you want to spend more, you can pot them in these pretty white planters. Both are available on Amazon, but if you don’t have the last minute Prime feature (AKA two-day shipping), you can sign up for a FREE 30-day trial.
2. JCPenney Home Solid Bath Towels
Another idea is to gift mom a set of new bath towels. If she’s still hanging onto the ones you used as a kid, chances are the ends are starting to fray. I use these ones from JCPenney for our guest bathroom, and they are super soft yet extremely durable. Don’t forget you can earn points on every dollar you spend when you enroll in the JCPenney Rewards Program.
3. Silver Treasures Sterling Silver Drop Earrings
Even though sterling silver is a tiny bit more expensive, I’ve found it’s worth splurging over silver-plate versions. If your mom’s ears are sensitive like mine are, she’ll appreciate you going the extra mile. Plus, these beauties are on sale for less than $20 right now!
4. MOM Picture Frame
Tuck one of your favorite photos inside this rustic MOM frame so she can proudly display her title at home or in the office. Don’t you just love those wooden letters? This would make a great baby shower gift too!
5. Spa Gift Card
Give mom the gift of time to herself with a gift card to her favorite spa, so she can get what she really needs this Mother’s Day: a little R&R. You don’t even have to drive to the store to buy one! Just order a SpaFinder gift card online from Raise.com and have it shipped straight to your mom. If you’re ever in the Southwest Florida area, here’s my favorite:
With one of these last minute gifts in hand, you’re mom won’t give a second thought to you cutting it so close…as long as you don’t tell her!
