When I found Anna from Green Eyed Country Girl, I spent way too much time oohing and ahhing over her fashion boards. I knew I’d have to ask her to guest post for you, since I’m not super cool in that department and almost never follow the latest trends. I hate wasting money on styles that will be gone in a year or two!
Thankfully, Anna has some great tips to share about giving new life to classic pieces. You will love her ideas!
Today I am going to show you how to style 4 classic wardrobe pieces in different ways.
You can invest in good quality options of these pieces and get lots and lots of wear out of them and have a completely different looks.
The #1 thing is that the pieces fit properly. Pieces that fit well shouldn’t ever be uncomfortable. Another way that you can extend the life of these pieces is to make sure you launder them properly. Dry cleaning can get expensive but it can be worth it in the long run.
1. A Blazer
A blazer can be worn in a number different ways. It can be used for the office, meetings, lunch dates, nights out on the town, a casual weekend…..a blazer can be worn in a LOT of different settings, making it a must have.
2. A Black Dress
This is a given. Every woman needs a black dress, whether is it “little” or not is personal preference. 🙂 These can also be worn several different ways as well. You can use shoes & accessories to change the look and feel of the dress/occasion.
3. Pencil Skirt
Pencil skirts can be so flattering and like a blazer or black dress you can style them up or down making these a nice staple for going from day to night.
4. A Cardigan
A cardigan can be worn over tank tops, button downs, with skirts, dresses, & pants. A true staple that can be worn in a number of different ways.
Play around with your options, and visit sites like Polyvore and Pinterest for inspiration for wearing items in new ways.
Try to piece together a combination you’ve never tried before and see what you think, you might be surprised at how much use you can get out of one piece.
Which wardrobe classic is your favorite to wear?
My name is Anna. I write at Green Eyed Country Girl about my journey as a photographer, fashion that I love, and other random bits and pieces of my life as a mom to 2 crazy kids and wife to a super husband. I love all things country….cowboy boots, cowboy hats, spurs, hay bales, etc. NOT country blue & mauve!
