You think I'm joking, but I'm really not!
Even though I don't read as much as I used to, I've still read a lot of books over the years.
Titles and plot lines start to blur together, and I have the hardest time remembering which books I've actually read, and which ones I haven't. Not to mention the frustration of publishers changing covers on me so I think it's an entirely new release, and I buy it……only to find out I have the exact same book at home.
Add a Kindle and all those FREE digital eBooks into the mix and reading gets even more complicated!
Yep. Book nerd problems.
So, I did the only thing a Type-A could think of to do — find a system to keep track of all the books I've already read, and those I want to read in the future.
I've experimented with a lot of different options over the past year, but finally settled into a 2-part system that works perfectly for me. It not only helps me keep tabs on reading lists, favorite authors and series, I also never wonder what book to read next!
Psst….don't let the cover image of the video below fool you. My book tracking system is more than just Goodreads, and includes a geeky spreadsheet!
Download a Copy of My Spreadsheet
If you'd like to download a copy of the Google Spreadsheet I mention in the video, just enter your email address via the box below, and I'll send it straight to you.
You can choose from a blank template option that allows you fill in each sheet with your favorite books, authors, and genres, OR, if you read a lot of the same authors I do, you can download my personal spreadsheet that has most of the work done for you.
Either way, I hope you geek out and enjoy tracking all sorts of books from now on!
Oh, I almost forgot! If you're looking for a good book to read, this Summer Reading List has some of my all-time faves. Enjoy!
