This easy trail mix recipe is not just quick to throw together, it tastes AMAZING! The ratio of chocolate, cranberries, and nuts are perfect—there's never any random nuts left in the bottom with no chocolate to go with it. And, it's a whole lot cheaper than buying trail mix off the grocery store shelf! #homemadetrailmix #trailmixrecipe #chocolatecranberrytrailmix

While visiting family in Upstate New York, I stopped by ALDI one afternoon to pick up road trip snacks for our long drive back to Florida. There were so many options! In fact, I paced for a good 10 minutes near the trail mix selection, trying to narrow down a combo both Joseph and I would love.

I finally chose a chocolate-cranberry mix filled with sunflower seeds, peanuts, and almonds. But the bag didn’t even last through Pennsylvania—that’s how yummy it was!

Obviously, I needed to make this STAT as an at-home staple.

This easy trail mix recipe is now my go-to afternoon snack when I’m feeling low on energy. It’s incredibly portable for parties too (just like this amazing sweet chex mix!). I made a batch for one of my blogger meet-ups, and everyone loved the perfect sweet and salty combination!

How to Make Chocolate Cranberry Trail Mix

Step 1: Measure all ingredients into a container or gallon sized ziplock storage bag. You’ll get the best price on nuts at a bulk foods store like Sam’s Club. Just store them in the fridge so they last longer!

Kalyn Brooke is the master of "perfect ratios" in her homemade trail mix recipe! It's all in the ratios.
For best results, put all the ingredients into a bowl large enough to mix the trail mix easily without spilling.

Step 2: Shake well. Store in a cool, dry place.

Doesn't this easy trail mix recipe just look amazing?

    1. Off the top of my head I do not and I don’t have all the ingredients handy right now or I would totally check for you!

  1. Yum, this sounds perfect! I’m not a fan of most trail mix because of all the raisins. Not sure why I never thought of replacing them with craisins instead! Smart move.

    1. Oh I can’t stand raisins!! But craisins make it sooo good! They add just that touch of fruity sweet to the smooth chocolate and salty nuts.
