Everyday Sandwich Bread

  • Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Yield: 2 loaves 1x

Description

This basic sandwich bread recipe is soft, fairly healthy, and freezes really well. It’s not that hard to make either! Let the bread machine do most of the work, then finish baking those yummy loaves in the oven. They make perfectly sized sandwiches for adults and kids!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/3 cups warm water
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp rapid-rise yeast

Instructions

  1. In bread machine, combine water, oil, and salt. Add the flour on top of the liquids. Pour sugar into one corner of machine. Make finger dent in center of flour and pour yeast into it. Set machine on dough setting.
  2. Separate the dough into two greased loaf pans and let rise in a warm place for an hour or so.
  3. Bake at 350 F for approximately 30 minutes. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then finish cooling on wire racks. Cut and serve, or slice and freeze.
