I've made this recipe for so many parties and everyone just LOVES it! In fact, the first thing anyone asks me when they first taste it is: "Can I have your Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe? This is amazing!" #buffalochickendip #buffalochickencheesedip #buffalodip #appetizerideas

A few weeks ago, we hosted a game night for Joseph’s board-game-geek-loving friends. I’m totally not crazy about them since I avoid complicated strategy games like the plague, but it does give me an excuse to try new recipes!

Normally, I stick to my tried-and-true snacks, but this time I had craving for something a little more spicy. Buffalo Chicken Dip was calling my name.

Believe it or not, I’ve never attempted any kind of Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe before, but I figured you can’t really go wrong with chicken, buffalo sauce, and boatload of cheese on top.

In fact, this dip turned out to be SO good, I had the hardest time staying out of it!

Now I make this dip for just about every party: Super Bowl, New Years, Christmas Eve. If there’s a gathering, you bet someone will request this dip!

Although Joseph and I have been known to substitute this as dinner every once in a while. 🙂

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Dip

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9″ pie dish (this one is so pretty!). Then in a large bowl, add shredded chicken (cooked, of course), cream cheese, wing sauce and 1/2 cup of each of the cheeses. Combine.

You can use any hot sauce you like, but I’m especially partial to Franks!

Step 2: Turn mixture out into prepared pie dish, smoothing top lightly with a spatula. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

Lots and lots of cheese.

Step 4: Bake 30-35 minutes, or until lightly browned and bubbly. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or crackers.

Now please excuse me while I go make another batch of this creamy deliciousness. The last recipe disappeared way too fast. 😉

  1. can I make this in a small crock pot instead of in the oven? if so what do you think time would be on high or low? thanks!!

  2. I used this recipe for my hospitality/tourism class at school, super easy to make! suuuper good!

  3. Has anyone used canned chicken for this recipe? I prefer fresh chicken, but as a time saver, I wonder if canned would work.

    1. Funny that you ask that! My mom uses canned chicken. It works pretty well – she loves that it makes it even more hassle free. 🙂

  4. It looks so simple to prepare. I can’t wait to make it myself. I’ve had some that my daughter made for my granddaughter and I could not stop eating it! It is delicious! Thanks for sharing your recipe with the world.

      1. I just made this and it was very easy and good. I mixed the cream cheese and I used just over half the amount of Franks hot sauce ( personal choice) first with a bit of dry ranch, then added the chicken and cheese.

  5. Oh yes! Some enjoy dipping buffalo wings in bleu cheese dressing (ew😝) but some like me enjoy dipping them in ranch so I add a little to my dip. I also use regular hot sauce in my dip because I don’t like the taste of buffalo wing sauces.

  6. I just put this together and put it in a foil bread tin that I picked up for cheap at the grocery store. I’m giving it as part of a food gift basket. It looks really cute and my recipient can just toss it in the oven. I did make one change. I added half a packet of ranch dressing seasoning to the mix. It adds something that you can’t quite define, but can’t stop eating. I saved a bit out for myself too. 😊

Also, after putting it together with chicken first I decided it would have been easier to start with the cream cheese (softened) then the buffalo sauce & ranch. That way it all gets mixed together evenly before adding in the chicken and cheeses.
