NEW MONTH, NEW BUDGET! I use the @youneedabudget NEW MONTH, NEW BUDGET!

I use the @youneedabudget app for our final budget numbers (and to categorize transactions as they come in automatically), but I always like to plot out our budget on paper first using this Monthly Budget Worksheet.

Psst… that little cheat sheet you see in the beginning is what I typically set aside for each expense.

YNAB only allocates the money you currently have, so I forecast how much I think we’ll earn and spend, and then when the income actually hits our account, I’ll assign it to each of our budget categories.

What makes this template special is the “Leftover” row at the end of each category section. This helps you cover your Monthly Bills and Living Expenses first, then apply what’s leftover to any debt or to build up your sinking funds!

Grab this download in the Etsy shop (or for free if you’re a @brainbooklibrary member.

If you have trouble sticking to new habits, try al If you have trouble sticking to new habits, try aligning them with your ROUTINES.

Habits get a little lonely hanging out by themselves. They need a cue. A time of day or a previous habit you can stack right alongside your new one.

Try this formula ➡️ “After I _____, then I will _____.” OR “At _____, I will _____.”

Example ➡️ “After I brush my teeth, then I will make my bed.” OR “At lunch, I will read 20 minutes of non-fiction.”

You basically use the power of habits that are already ingrained in your brain to help form new ones.

This Daily Routines page focuses more on the “time of day” cue.

I fill it out at the beginning of the week, and group my habits by the time of day I want to do them. Sometimes I don’t always do a workout in the morning and instead shift it to the afternoon, but this an ideal baseline for me to follow… and as a result, I check off more habits!

🛍 This design is available in my Etsy shop as a digital download or as a printed, ship-to-your-door insert. You can stick it in your planner (or on the fridge!)
