Don’t be afraid to make plans, BUT…. ⚠️Ho Don’t be afraid to make plans, BUT….

⚠️Hold them loosely.⚠️

If you’re a Type-A, Enneagram 1 like me, “loose” isn’t in your vocabulary. We are very methodical about what we do!

For instance, when I say I’m going to do something, I’m going to do whatever it takes to follow through, even to the detriment of my own health. (Which is what happened last year).

I still 100% believe in goal setting, planning, and dreaming for the future.

But I’m not going into this year as unrelenting and tight-fisted as last year.✊

Instead I’m saying,

“These are the things I want to accomplish, but I’m open and willing for them to change.”

I think that’s the **healthiest** place to be anyway.

2023 WORD OF THE YEAR Every year, I choose one wo 2023 WORD OF THE YEAR

Every year, I choose one word to guide me during the next twelve months. 

After feeling scattered by all the things I’ve started but haven’t finished (from house projects to my capsule wardrobe to the Harry Potter series), I needed a word that pushed me to wrap up these loose ends before starting anything new.

And so, FINISH it is!

In my planner, I made a list of items to complete by the end of 2023. Seeing this list ON PAPER has already inspired me to make progress. Let’s hope I don’t get distracted by something shiny and new!

My name is Kalyn and I have a love/hate relationship with Instagram. 🤪

I love connecting and sharing and consuming on this platform, but I equally believe we’re not meant to broadcast every aspect of our lives on a 5 1/2” screen. 📵

So sometimes I’m here… and sometimes I’m not.

When I do show up, here’s what you can expect…

✚ a peek into what real life looks like when you battle depression, anxiety, and OCD

✚ the tools and practices I use to cope (like healthy habits, life-giving routines, and my planner!)

✚ reminders that on the hard days, there’s ALWAYS hope, even when you don’t feel very hopeful right now.

Through it all, my goal is to put YOU back charge of your mental health by providing a mix of mindset shifts, lifestyle changes, and the nudge to embrace outside help (like therapy + medication) if you need it.

I’M NOT AN EXPERT.

In fact, I’m still in the middle of my own healing journey.

When was the last time you did something a little When was the last time you did something a little crazy so you could feel more like yourself?

▫️get a tattoo?
▫️embrace different hair color?
▫️buy a shirt in a totally new style?

After daily headaches for the past few months, I decided we had to cut the hair. I really liked it long, but caring for my thick strands was more annoying than fun.

So we chopped 4-5 inches! And also thinned it a LOT. 

This haircut and style definitely feels more ME. 😍

To be honest, I’ve lost a lot of myself in the difficulties of this past year. So it feels good to come back to the woman I used to be in this small way. 🤍
