Quick and Easy BBQ Joes

If you’re looking for a hearty meal that’s just as quick as it is yummy, you have to try this BBQ version of the sloppy joe.
I first found this recipe in between the pages of a Kraft Food and Family magazine, and couldn’t believe how easy it was to throw together. With only 4 ingredients {and most of them already found inside my pantry}, this BBQ sloppy joe recipe is packed with flavor without all the fuss.
They go perfectly with a side of fruit, applesauce, or steamed veggies, and are a great way to use up all those leftover hamburger and hot dog rolls from the summer grilling season. And if you’ve stocked up on any barbecue sauce from Memorial and Labor Day sales, you can have this sticky summer sweetness all winter long!
The Process
Step 1: Cook 1 lb ground beef in the skillet until browned, making sure to drain grease when you’re finished.
Step 2: Put pan back on the burner and add ketchup and BBQ sauce. Cook for 5 minutes on low until the mixture is heated through, stirring occasionally.
Step 3: Spoon BBQ Joe mixture onto buns and eat! Oh, and try not to get too messy.

I know it makes Joseph extremely happy to have a meal where the meat takes center stage, whereas I can usually take it or leave it. But for this particular recipe, I’m over-the-moon excited that dinner’s on the table within minutes, and I don’t have to spend all day in the kitchen cooking it!
Are Sloppy Joes a dinnertime staple in your family?

I’m a good cook, but as lazy as they come in the kitchen. Need a good basic recipe that is simple to put together. Your sloppy joes fit the bill perfectly. Printed this out and is now in my recipes folder with my other simple but tasty recipes. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it, Patrick! It’s still one of our family favorites. 🙂
Your recipe looks delicious. I would be honored if you would stop by and share at Foodie Fridays this evening (Thurs 9pm EST). Hope to see you there.
Blessings,
Shari
