In fact, anytime I visit my parents for the holidays, we settle in with cozy throws, frosted sugar cookies, hot cocoa, and a Hallmark movie or two. It’s my favorite way to spend a December evening—even if the magical kiss is totally staged and my mom and I can’t stop giggling about the eye roll on both our faces!
But this event only happens a few days out of the entire year, because my parents have cable…and we do not. Which means, the channel I’ve come to rely on to usher in the holiday spirit isn’t available to me 24/7!
Well, I finally solved that problem.
Thanks to modern technology, there is a simple way (many, actually!) to access The Hallmark Channel online, without paying for an over-priced monthly cable bill. No more missing those holiday movies!
How to Watch the Newest Hallmark Movies:
1. FrndlyTV

2. Philo
You know how I mentioned that my parents have cable? Well, here’s a fun update: they cut the cord just last year and opted for Philo instead. My mom absolutely loves it!
Very similar to Netflix in that you can even set up personalized accounts, Philo allows you to save unlimited shows for 30 days—just set your device to record live or future shows and watch them later!
Best of all, this service comes in at just $20/month.
3. Sling TV
Accessing The Hallmark Channel through Sling TV will cost a little more (but still much less than cable). First you’ll need to subscribe to one of their base packages (at 40% off your first month)
- Sling Orange for $20 per month (30 channels)
- Sling Blue for $25 per month (45 channels)
- OR, Orange + Blue for $40 per month (50+ channels)

If you’re just wanting access to Hallmark, I’d go with one of the more cost-effective options above! However, if you have a sports fan in the house, Fubo could be the best of both worlds.
How to Watch Hallmark Movies Online
You won’t find the newest movie premieres on the following channels, but you’ll still get access to older films!
1. Hallmark Movies Now
Hallmark Movies Now is a movie streaming service similar to Netflix. A subscription costs you just $5.99 per month, or you can pay for it annually, dropping the price down to $4.99 per month.
Christmas movies are about two years behind, but HMN includes a Hallmark Hall of Fame section with over 100 of their best flicks and they are adding new titles all the time.
Everything is commercial-free too!
2. Xumo
The free streaming service, Xumo, recently added Hallmark Movies & More, which features over 120 titles of original Hallmark content.
Because of Xumo’s free nature, there are however, quite a few ads. These ads pop up before and during your video, similar to YouTube, and in between switching channels.
But it’s a small “tax” to pay if you want to watch Hallmark movies online!
DON’T FORGET: You’ll need a streaming device (like Roku, Fire TV, or Apple TV) to access each of these streaming services!
This Year’s Hallmark Christmas Movies
Now that you know you won’t have to miss out on the Hallmark Christmas movies this year (YAY!), you’ll definitely want to download a programming guide.
Have your sugar cookies and hot cocoa ready, because Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas starts the end of October and runs through New Year’s Eve, with so many never-before-seen movies!
Which service is best for you?
- For those who want access to Hallmark’s newest movies and shows with a bunch of extra channels to enjoy, Sling TV and Philo are your best shot at staying up to date.
- For those won’t watch much of anything else besides Hallmark, FrndlyTV will be your cheapest option.
- But for families with a die-hard sports fan in the house, Fubo includes enough channels to make everyone happy.

To get Hulu or Phios do I have to have a smart TV and a ruku?

Hi Kalyn! I am a fan of Hallmark for sure and have had Roku with Hallmark Movies Now, however, we are now living in Guatemala for a year and a half and don’t have access to any cable. Any TV shows we watch are just thru our computers. I don’t want to pay more than $10/month because our work here doesn’t allow for much TV time, but would love to just watch a good Hallmark movie once in awhile. Any suggestions?

It’s almost 2020 and I’ve switched to a smart tv and no cable bill ( except for the internet fee- we bought a router so no monthly rental fee on that) we pay for Netflix – have Amazon Prime- and use Hulu live about 40 a month so we can watch live sports – news and other shows/ in order to watch hallmark live – we would now need to purchase yet another plan – for at least 20 a month just to start. All premium channels still have a monthly fee ; Showtime & HBO etc/ so…… we had to make some sacrifices in order to keep our bill down to almost half. I guess my point is – we like the lower bill- it was necessary- but it begins to all add up just like cable when you get all of the channels ( even most of the channels) that you want. Had to say goodbye to Hallmark. ☹️

You can watch that show on the internet with tablet or pc. that series 1-4 on Netflix no season five 🙁
I watch the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries the most and am eagerly waiting for Christmas in July to be over so that I can see some mysteries. Does Amazon Prime or Netflix show the most recent mystery shows?
They may – I’m not sure. There selection isn’t complete when it comes to Halmark but they may have some of them!
Love Hallmark Mysteries, watch your channel daily but now I need to channel surf for a few weeks as I do on Thursdays…just too much Christmas. I love Christmas but prefer to watch Christmas shows at Christmastime.
