My 2025 Goals: How I’m Balancing Big Projects a Short-Term Sprints
I’m finally sharing my 2025 goals (in March!)—including how I’m breaking them into Six-Week Sprints, the long-term projects I’m tackling, and why I’m embracing a more flexible, grace-filled approach.
The calendar just flipped to March, and I’m finally ready to share my goals for the year.
About time, right?
Usually, I map everything out between Christmas and New Year’s so I can hit the ground running, but this year was different.
I found myself in a transition period—unsure of what I wanted my career to look like and what I should tackle next.
That’s when I decided to start working with a coach (best decision ever, and honestly, I wish I had done it sooner!). Having someone to bounce ideas off of, ask the right questions, and help me process big decisions has been a game-changer.
If you're curious, I’m working with Crystal from Flourish & Thrive and she’s currently offering a complimentary session if you want 60 minutes of clarity and direction—highly recommend!
Why I'm Sharing My 2025 Goals for the Year
I know, I know—I’m always saying that yearly goals aren’t the answer, so it might seem a little weird that I’m sharing my goals for 2025.
But really, it’s all in how you approach them.
The biggest mistake I see people make? Listing out 10–20 goals and giving themselves twelve whole months to complete them. That’s a recipe for procrastination.
You can still make your list—but break it up into Six-Week Sprints to keep up momentum and actually make it to the finish line. That said, some goals (like a reading goal) make sense to track for the full year.
Otherwise, I’ll be tackling mine in Six-Week Sprints or in halfsies instead of quarters (my term—haha). I’ll also note what type of goal each one is so you can see how it all fits together!

Personal Goals
- Read 50 books in 2025. (Yearly Goal) Last year I read 41 books, so while it's a stretch, I'm hopeful I'll make it!
- Work through Bible in a Year Club. (Yearly Goal) I joined this community run by Phylicia Masonheimer to read the Bible through in its entirety for the first time in my life! You're supposed to finish reading by the end of the year by skipping the days you miss and hopping right back on the reading plan, but I can't make myself do it. 🤪 So I'm accepting that it might take me two years to do this.
- Journal every day in my 5-year journal. (Yearly Goal) I bought this beautiful book on Etsy and I'm proud to say I've kept this up! If I don't log a few sentences at the end of the day, I will double up the next day to catch up. I can't wait to start the book over next year to see all the memories from the previous year.
- Max out IRA. (Yearly Goal) This is a financial goal that I'm really excited about! We have been scraping by most of our entrepreneurship life, but now that we are better financial footing, I'm leaning into maximizing investments.
- Get back into an active lifestyle. (Habit Goal—first half of 2025) I used to be an extremely active person and I let this go every since we got back from Alaska at the end of last summer. An active lifestyle to me means working out 5x/week (2x running or hiking + 3x strength training) and getting in at least 5K steps per day. Once I do this consistently, then I can move into adding the next habit, which is…
- Get a handle on meal planning and prep to make healthy eating easier. (Habit Goal—second half of 2025). We are in a season of grabbing quick meals (i.e., takeout or sandwiches), and I want to put more effort into prepping what I can at the beginning of the week so we can still eat quick and healthy.
Of course, I have a lot of different habits that I like to keep up with, but I really want to dial in on those two for 2025!
KB Creative Media Goals
Under my personal brand, I juggle this blog, YouTube, a shop, Notion Community, and email community. I've stepped back in some areas to make room for my currently growing second business, Open Roading (I'll get to those goals soon!), but I still have a desire to grow what we have created here!
- Migrate to Flodesk. (Project Goal) I've been using MailerLite for my email service for the past two years and I really like it! But the cost was not cool. I can get a full year of Flodesk for four months of MailerLite. So I'm in the process of moving and should have this finished by the end of March. Sign up via this link if you need an email marketing platform and want 50% off your first year.
- Revamp the Nerdy about Notion Community. (Six-Week Sprint—first half of year) Currently, this community is only for those who purchase one of my Notion templates or enroll in my Notion Anatomy class, but I want to open it up to everyone and create dedicated free and paid spaces so people can get the help they need. I'm also envisioning co-working sessions where we can work on our workspaces together!
- Launch one new Notion template. (Six-Week Sprint—second half of year). I'm not sure exactly what this will be, but I'm thinking either a health dashboard, advanced meal planner, or a content creation hub for creators. Let me know which one you would love most in the comments!
- Update the Notion Anatomy Class. (Six-Week Sprint—second half of year) Notion has made so many new updates (here's the massive list of everything they added in 2024!) and this class needs a refresh. Plus, I want to break it down into more digestible videos so you don't have to watch it all within one sitting.
Open Roading Goals
My RV life travel brand has been rapidly growing over the past year and a half, and I'm trying to keep up with it! I have a lot of ideas to grow this business in 2025.
- Grow YouTube channel to 100,000 subscribers. (Outcome Goal) I can't guarantee this will happen, but I'm going to do my very best to try! We are currently at 43K. Subscribe here if you want to help me achieve this goal!
- Grow YouTube channel memberships to 500 members. (Outcome Goal) Again, outcome goals are not guaranteed, but we would love to diversify our income so we are not always reliant on advertising revenue, which can be volatile. We are currently at 186 members. You can join here for exclusive videos and live chats.
- Create two new Notion templates. (Project Goal—first half of year). I'm in the process of finalizing the RV Travel Planner based on the dashboard I created for myself to keep track of all our activities and campgrounds. I am also working on a guide to Florida free camping, which will also be released as a Notion product.
- Secure another long-term sponsor for the channel. (Outcome Goal) We currently have two paying sponsors with 6-month or more contracts, but I'd love to add one more.
- Work with a tourism board. (Outcome goal) I'd love to create content for a destination, so I'll be pitching the areas we plan to visit this year to see if we can make that happen!
- Create merch line. (Six-Week Sprint—second half of year) Our community has been begging for merch and I think it would be really fun to create the designs. I already have some fun ideas!
- Launch a website. (Six-Week Sprint—second half of year) We still don't have a functional website for Open Roading and I need to take care of that ASAP! I keep eyeing all the new themes from Restored 316.
You might notice that some of my goals are project-based, while others follow a six-week sprint structure. It really depends on whether that timeline helps keep me on track and if the goal itself fits within that framework.
Take my Florida free camping guide, for example—I’ve spent all winter (December 2024–March 2025) photographing free camping spots and collecting data. That’s a long-term project, not something that fits neatly into six weeks! Now, I just need to refine my Notion template with all the data I’ve gathered and prep for the official launch in August 2025—right when most RVers start planning their winter in the Sunshine State.
On the other hand, something like creating a merch line is perfect for a six-week sprint. The structured timeline keeps things moving without dragging the process out too long.
Let's Normalize Not Setting Goals in January
I once heard someone say that January should be for reflecting, not goal setting—and clearly, I took that idea and ran with it all the way through February!
The perfectionist in me loves the idea of a fresh start on January 1st, but over the years, I’ve realized that real progress doesn’t hinge on an arbitrary date. When you shift your mindset to see that goals can be set anytime, you stop feeling like you’re “falling behind” or missing out.
Because the truth is—there’s no race.
No deadline that says you must have everything figured out by a certain time. Progress happens in seasons, and giving yourself permission to start when you are ready, rather than when the calendar tells you to, is one of the best ways to ensure your goals are actually meaningful and sustainable.
It’s a much more grace-filled approach—and honestly, I think we could all use a little more of that!

This was so helpful! My brain needs examples to really be able to apply it to my own life and you’ve inspired me! My Goals for 2025:
Career: Get QB ProAdvisor Certification (6-week sprints for each type)
Home: Declutter whole house (broken down into 6 week sprints by area)
Health: Daily Walking/Hiking (habit goal)
Life: Create a One Box and digitize all other information/paperwork (Weekly steps toward final goal -I’m following a course)
Finances: Replenish emergency fund (6-week sprint finding ways to save by week)
Happy 2025!
So much good stuff in this post KB – I used to do the whole split your life into ten areas then set goals but now I do a 25 for 2025 list then break it down further into seasons. Similar to your RV life style, we’re young retirees living off grid in Tasmania – so my list isn’t the norm. It’s got big things like build a shed, to small like wash my car! (Never seem to manage this regularly). Looking forward to more posts & a health dashboard for the SWS would be my vote 🙂
Thanks so much for your comment, Shylie! I love the idea of a 25 for 2025 list. It seems much more manageable than forcing yourself to set goals in multiple life areas.
